Deposits
1. Pet and show quality ragdoll deposit cost is $300 and will hold the cat/kitten of your choice.
a If we generate a waitlist for kittens (we have one currently), the waitlist will be based on the following categories:
⬩ pet or show quality
⚬ gender preference
⚬ color preference
⚬ pattern preference
⬩ pet quality, no preference (buyers that just want a kitten, any kitten)
b No cat/kitten will be held without a deposit.
⬩ The deposit is to ensure the buyer’s intent to buy the ragdoll described in this agreement and will hold this cat until the cat/kitten placement date, prior to final payment.
⬩ No deposit is required to join our waitlist while we have no litters, but once a litter is born, in order to choose a kitten, a deposit is required to keep your place in line.
2. Deposits may be made by PayPal, Venmo, or Ze.lle.
3. The deposit goes toward the cost of the cat/kitten and will be deducted from the buyer’s final payment.
a. A deposit made via bank check will not hold a particular cat/kitten until the funds have cleared the bank, however, it will allow the buyer to be placed in line on a waiting list (if we have one) from the date the check was received. So, if two buyers are interested in a particular gender, color, and pattern and Buyer A sends a payment via bank check and 5 days later, Buyer B pays via credit card, Buyer A will remain in line before Buyer B but will not be able to choose the cat/kitten until the funds clear the bank.
4. The deposit is refundable at the discretion of the seller from the date the deposit is made through the age of 10 weeks. After the cat reaches 10 weeks old, no refunds will be considered. This is because the seller will have held the cat/kitten from all other potential buyers who may have since moved on to other cats/kittens at other catteries. This serves as a deterrent to the buyers from pulling out close to purchase date, leaving the seller with a cat/kitten that could have been sold to someone else.
a. To make any changes to the original contract, the buyer must reach out to the seller to discuss the change. The buyer must also sign an acknowledgement of the desired change to protect both of us from miscommunication and confusion.
⬩ Examples of changes to the contract may include the following:
⚬ to cancel the sale completely
⚬ to amend the original contract, relinquishing a hold on the original kitten to place a hold on a different kitten
⚬ to move their deposit to a future litter
▸ This is permissible until the kitten’s 10th week.
▹ The buyer will have the opportunity to put their deposit on hold for no more than 3 litters unless discussed and agreed upon by the seller.
⚬ to add a 2nd kitten
▸ If the buyer wants to add an additional kitten to be placed at the same time as the originally chosen kitten, a separate contract on that kitten must be signed, and an additional deposit must be received, however, the buyer will receive a $100 discount on the second kitten, which will come of the final total.
5. The seller reserves the right to refuse sale to any buyer if they are deemed unsuitable to care for a cat/kitten at any time in the process. In this case all payments made by the buyer prior to placement date will be refunded.
